This is my final graphic design class in high school and am currently taking it for my senior year.
Project #1: Beckman "B Connected" T-Shirt
This was the first assignment given during the school year. The task was to create a design on the back of a t-shirt to represent Beckman High School. Variate the letter “B” and add a BHS motto word as well.
My inspiration came from me daydreaming about how crowded the school was. The jam packed hallways during the passing periods are one of the more memorable parts of my high school experience. I wanted to realize that pet peeve in a cartoonish and light-hearted manner. It would fit the BHS virtue of being “United.” I used different shades and tints of red, white, and blue because they were Beckman’s colors.
This was started on 8/19/22 and finished on 8/22/22. About 6-7 hours were spent on this in total.
Compared to the rest of the class, mine had probably the most line work. It was bubbly, eye-catching, and unique. It was my first project so I was slightly rusty from Summer break.
From this first project, I learned how a shirt printer worked. Unfortunately, I only used ¾ of the space on my artboard and so the graphic came out a little smaller than I had anticipated.
